My interest in healing arts began at the University of Vermont, where I majored in Chinese language and culture. During this time, I began to train in Chinese martial arts and learn about meditation and medicine. My studies led me to move to Beijing, China. During my years there, I immersed myself in Chinese traditional arts and trained intensively with an elder teacher of Baguazhang in the martial, healing, and medical arts.

I began my formal medical schooling at Tai Hsuan College of Acupuncture and Herbal Medicine in Honolulu, Hawaii. While in Hawaii, I studied with a traditional Taoist doctor and received instruction in qigong, herbal wild crafting, and Taoist arts. I continued my studies at the prestigious American College of Traditional Chinese Medicine, in San Francisco, California where I received my Masters of Science in traditional Chinese medicine. During my years of  practice after graduating, I have continued to refine my clinical skills with some of the top practitioners in the field of traditional Chinese medicine.

A pivotal time for me came in 2015 when I was suddenly struck by viral encephalitis, an infection of the brain and spinal cord. While in the intensive care unit, the doctors were preparing my family for the worst. It was a life-threatening illness that would require months of recovery and the possibility that I would never be the same. Despite all the testing, they could not find a cause and did not have a clear course of treatment. Though the medical staff could not explain it, I made a spontaneous recovery. In a short time I was discharged from the hospital and within weeks I was back to normal. I credit health building practices for getting me through a dangerous illness and Chinese medicine for my full recovery. The experience instilled a renewed sense of appreciation and inspires me to share this medicine with the world.

Today, I continue to deepen my knowledge of medicine, meditation and martial arts. I find joy in helping people overcome their challenges and reach higher levels of health. I specialize in chronic conditions, pain and injury. When not in the clinic, I enjoy spending time with my family, reading and training.
