Born in Marquette, Michigan and raised in Northeastern Wisconsin, Suzan grew up believing that each one of us has the power to heal ourselves. She began studying Western herbology while still in her teens.
Fascinated by the world’s cultures, Suzan’s undergraduate studies focused on languages. She studied French, Russian, Spanish, Chinese, Gaelic and German; finally graduating with an emphasis in French/International Business and Marine Biology. She returned to school to study Botany as a pre-med student at the University of Arizona. Her first acupuncture session forever changed the plan of her medical career by introducing her to a completely different medical model than she was accustomed to in Western medicine; presenting a cohesive, holistic approach harkening back to her beliefs of her youth.
She counts herself fortunate in having had the opportunity to study closely with many great teachers in the Traditional medicine world such as Lumini Merced, Patricia Singer, Dr. Xie Peiqi, Heavenly Master Hsiang Yi Chang, Kristin Schaefer-Saucedo and Ping Lee. Since then, Suzan has pursued an eclectic combination of bodywork forms and medical modalities with the intention of providing a comprehensive health approach that embraces the needs of each patient as an individual. She incorporates combinations of diet and lifestyle counseling, acupuncture, acupressure, orthopedic massage and visceral manipulation, and herbal recommendations into each session.
In her studies at the American College of Traditional Chinese Medicine, Suzan specialized in the treatment of internal medicine and chronic conditions, gynecological conditions, and fertility. Suzan is one of the co-founders of Circle of Health.
